Utilities Electrician
The City of Show Low is accepting applications for the
position of Electrician (Salary: Starting $18.04 per hour plus an excellent
benefits package). The successful candidate will be responsible for operating
and maintaining electrical equipment including indoor and outdoor lighting;
power and control equipment for wells; motor controls and pumps; and other
electrical equipment in City facilities. Electrical work will be performed at a
Journeyman level. In addition to electrical work, this position requires labor
involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including
pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole and line cleaning, main and pipe
repair, laying and backfilling. Must have ability to perform heavy manual tasks
for extended periods of time; perform duties to appropriate safety and security
standards; understand and carry out written and oral instructions; and work well
with the public and other employees. Preference will be given to candidates
that demonstrate experience and competence equivalent with Journeyman level in
the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment as described above; and
those with a background in water/wastewater. Must have high school diploma or
GED; have a valid Arizona Driver License; and ability to obtain a Commercial
Driver License within six (6) months of employment.
