Recreation Coordinator II – Special Events 

The City of Show Low announces recruitment for the position of Recreation Coordinator II – Special Events.

Starting Salary:  $35,800 - $38,700 

The Job: Under the general supervision of the Parks & Recreation Director, performs program coordination, for community special events.  This position will design, organize, market and implement a variety of recreation and community events.  Secure community partnerships and event sponsors, recruit, hire and train part-time and seasonal staff, submit budget recommendations and monitor expenses. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field from an accredited university, and minimum of 3 years recreation programming experience, or an equivalent combination of closely related training and experience. 

Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP), within 6 months of hire. CPR and First-Aid certifications are preferred.                                   

Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and maintain satisfactory driving record. 

Selection Process: Will consist of an application screening and supplemental questionnaire with the most qualified candidates who have demonstrated excellence in Parks and Recreation Programming being invited to participate in a personal interview.  Appointment is subject to successful completion of background investigation and City-paid, pre-employment, post-offer, physical examination and drug screening.
