INTERNET AND COMPUTER USE POLICIES
Use of the computers at the Show Low Public Library,
including the Computer Lab, is a privilege provided free of charge, except for
printing costs as posted. All users of
these online resources are expected to use them appropriately, only for legal
purposes, and in compliance with Show Low Public Library Internet Use Policies, summarized as follows.
Because these computers are shared by users of many different
ages and backgrounds in an open public area, all users are asked to consider
this when accessing potentially controversial information and images over the
Internet. You are expected to not
disturb or offend others by your behavior or use of these computers.
Internet access on these computers is restricted by technology
protection measures (filtering software), in compliance with the Children’s
Internet Protection Act (CIPA) [Pub. L. No. 106-554 and 47 USC 254(h)] and
If you are an adult and have a need for filtering to be disabled,
such as for bona fide research or other lawful purposes, you may request this from
the Library/Lab attendant. Minors (under
age 18, according to
Arizona Revised Statute
13-2316 makes it unlawful for anyone to damage, destroy
or alter computer software or hardware belonging to or accessible from the
Library.
The Show Low Public Library reserves the right to ask any
person using Library computers to discontinue the display of information and/or
images that are considered in violation of Library policies. Any violation of or refusal to comply with
these policies may result in suspension or permanent loss of the privilege to
use the computers at the Show Low Public Library.
