Circulation Policies
Library Card
To obtain a library card, you must be 18 years or older with proof of local address and a picture ID. If
you have an out of area address, you
may apply for a Deuce Card, with a 2
item checkout limit. Children under 18
must be signed up by a parent. Your card can be used at all Navajo County Public Libraries.
Checkout of Materials
Books may be borrowed (checked out) for a 3 week period, except for New Books and Bestsellers, which may be checked out for
a 2 week period, with a limit of 4 books per card.
DVD's and videos may be checked out for 1 week, with a limit of 2 video items per card.
Magazines (excluding the
current issue) may
be checked out individually for 1 week,
with a limit of 5 per card.
Audio tapes and CD's may be checked out for
a 3 week period with a limit of 6 per card.
Music CD's may be checked out for a 3 week period.
A new patron is
limited to 2 checkouts for the first checkout and thereafter up to 25 items
may be checked out. Only 2 nonfiction books per subject may be checked out.
Renewing Materials
An item may be renewed
one time, if it has not been placed
on “hold.”
Fines and Late Fees
Late books are charged 10 cents per day.
Late
Bestsellers, videos, DVD's and audio books are charged 25 cents per day.
If you accrue $3.00 or more in fines, no more checkouts will
be allowed until fines are paid off. You will also be restricted from using the
Computer Lab.
When items are 10 weeks overdue, your account will be
referred for collection, according to the Non-Returned Library Materials Policy
(Materials Recovery Program).
If materials are lost or damaged, patrons must pay any
replacement costs. Parents are
ultimately responsible for items that are checked out by their children.
Inter-Library Loans
Inter-Library Loans are available to established patrons who
live within the library's calling area. Patrons must have a current local phone
number.
