Law Enforcement Torch Run®
for Special Olympics


The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics is an international series of torch relays run by law enforcement officers to raise money for Special Olympics Summer Games. Show Low Police and other Arizona Law enforcement officers

raise money in conjunction with their Torch Run to benefit their local Special Olympics program.


The Torch Run
® is the largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for the Special Olympics.  The 2004 the event raised more than $20 million for Special Olympics Programs. Nearly 85,000 law enforcement officers, including Show Low Police participants, carried the "Flame of Hope" through 35 nations to raise awareness and funds.

 

The 2006 Arizona Torch Run® will come through Show Low on May 3rd. Participants will leave the Show Low Police Department at 6:30 a.m., heading west along U.S. Highway 260 to MP317, where the torch will be passed to the next law enforcement team.
