SHOW LOW PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION

REGULAR MEETING OF TUESDAY, MARCH 12, 2013

 

1.         Call to Order.

 

Chairman Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

 

2.         Roll Call.

 

COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:  Chairman Johnson, Vice Chairman Quihuis, Commissioner Burrell, Commissioner Behrends.

 

COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner Berry, Commissioner Bishop, Commissioner Houston-Robertson.

 

STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT:  Justen Tregaskes, Planning and Zoning Director; Katie B. Fechtelkotter, Planner; Marian Agan, Administrative Assistant. 

 

PUBLIC PRESENT:  Steven Shumaker, Barbie Shumaker.

Consideration of Conditional Use Permit 602-04-155 submitted by Steven & Barbie Shumaker to allow the sale of secondhand goods located at 3301 S. White Mountain Road, that being A.P.N. 210-33-013B.

 

COMMISSIONER BEHRENDS MOVED TO APPROVE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 602-04-155 SUBMITTED BY STEVEN & BARBIE SHUMAKER TO ALLOW THE SALE OF SECONDHAND GOODS LOCATED AT 3301 S. WHITE MOUNTAIN ROAD, THAT BEING A.P.N. 210-33-013B SUBJECT TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS; SECONDED BY VICE CHAIRMAN QUIHUIS.

 

Mr. Tregaskes asked if the Commission would like to add in the motion about signs to direct parking to non-ADOT (Arizona Department of Transportation) Right of Way area.

 

COMMISSIONER BEHRENDS AMENDED HER MOTION AND MOVED TO APPROVE CUP 602-04-155 SUBMITTED BY STEVEN & BARBIE SHUMAKER TO ALLOW THE SALE OF SECONDHAND GOODS LOCATED AT 3301 S. WHITE MOUNTAIN ROAD, THAT BEING A.P.N. 210-33-013B SUBJECT TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS ALONG WITH POSTING SIGNS DIRECTING PARKING TO NON-ADOT RIGHT OF WAY; SECONDED BY VICE CHAIRMAN QUIHUIS; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

 

8.         Call to Public. 

 

Any citizen desiring to speak on a matter that is within the jurisdiction of the Planning and Zoning Commission may do so at this time.  Comments may be limited to three minutes per person and shall be addressed to the Planning and Zoning Commission as a whole, and not to any individual member.  Issues raised shall be limited to those within the jurisdiction of the Planning and Zoning Commission.  Pursuant to the Arizona Open Meeting Law, the Planning and Zoning Commission cannot discuss or act on items presented at this time.  At the conclusion of the call to the public, individual Planning and Zoning Commission members may (1) respond to criticism made by those who have spoken, (2) ask staff to review a matter, and (3) ask that a matter be put on a future agenda.

VICE CHAIRMAN QUIHUIS MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 26, 2013, THE MINUTES OF THE STUDY SESSION OF FEBRUARY 12, 2013, AND THE MINUTES OF THE STUDY SESSION OF FEBRUARY 26, 2013; SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER BURRELL; PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
