Junk mail is a major
source of paper waste in the U.S. To stop junk mail deliver at your home,
contact the
Direct Marketing Association to activate the mail preference service and
include your name, spelling variations
you see on junk mail, address, city,
state, zip and your signature. It may take a few months before your name is
removed from many of the national mailing lists but it will be good for up to
five years. If you still receive junk
mail, contact the mail-order companies
directly.
