The five members of the Board of Adjustment are
appointed by the Mayor and City Council,
and serve without compensation for
four-year terms. The powers and duties of the Board of Adjustment include:
♣ Hearing and deciding appeals to orders, requirements or decisions made by the
zoning
administrator in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance;
♣
Hearing and deciding appeals for variances from the terms of the zoning
ordinance due to
special circumstances applicable to
the property;
♣ Hearing requests for reasonable accommodation under the zoning code
for an individual
with a disability, or disability of an individual(s) who will
reside at the property, pursuant to
state or federal law.
